GullNet – User’s Quick Reference

Welcome to GullNet! This service allows you complete control over your Gulliver inventory. These step-by-step instructions will guide you easily through the use of the system and will help you make the most of its many features.

Connecting to Your GullNet System

  1. Open your Internet browser and login to www.gulliver.ie/GullNet. Alternatively you can login to www.gulliver.ie and click on the GullNet link on the top right of the Gulliver Ireland homepage.
  2. You will now see the GullNet login page.
  3. Type your “Login” (username) and “Password” into the relevant boxes.
  4. Press return or click ‘Continue’.
  5. You are in the GullNet home page where you will see the following messages:
    • “You are (user) at (property), you last logged in at (relevant date and time).”
    • “Current Property” displays the name of your property or properties (if more than one property you can view the relevant section of each property by using the drop down list.)
    • “Message of the day”, a generic message for property owners.
    • “Notifications”. This will inform you of any new bookings or cancellations.

User Options
On the right hand side of the GullNet homepage you will see the following options:

  1. Booking Notifications
  2. Set Selling Prices
  3. Set Availability
  4. Search Bookings
  5. Update Users
  6. Log Off

You can click on “Home” from within any of these options and it will bring you straight back to the GullNet home page.
NB: to print a screen at any time, click on the print icon on the toolbar of your browser.

1. Booking Notifications

  1. From the GullNet home page click “Booking Notifications” if you do not have any new book you will get a message to say, “no notifications were found for this premises”. If you have a new transaction it will display a page with all notifications relevant to the property.
  2. Underneath the heading “Notifications” you will see the following message, “Show Confirmed and Cancelled and Provisional” with “10” entries per page.
  3. Using the drop down list to the right of “Confirmed and Cancelled and Provisional” and “10” you may change this to viewing ‘only Confirmed’, ‘only Cancelled’ or ‘only Provisional’. You can view up to 50 entries per page.
  4. If there are new bookings you will see what page of the “Booking/Cancellation” listing you are on e.g. 1 of 1, 3 of 5 etc. You may navigate from each page of listed bookings by clicking on the page number or clicking “Next” or “Prev”.
  5. You will see a listing of the latest confirmed/cancelled/provisional with the following details: Arrival date, Number of guests, Number of nights, Guests name, Reference and Type (i.e. booking or cancellation)”. Each booking/cancellation is colour coded depending on whether you have viewed it or not. ‘Not Yet Viewed’ are displayed with a grey background while ‘Viewed’ have a white background.
  6. To view the full details of the booking/cancellation click on the “Reference” number of the relevant booking/cancellation. You may also navigate between bookings by clicking “Next” and “Prev” at the top of the page.
  7. You may also use the “Generate Listing” option at the bottom right of the ‘Booking Notification’ screen where you can list notifications within a specified period of time.
  8. Click on “Home” at the top left hand corner to return to the GullNet home page.

NB: You can also access new booking notifications underneath the ‘Message on the Day’ on the home page. Once you have viewed a new transaction it will disappear from the “Notifications” screen overnight. After this, transactions can be viewed in the “Search Bookings” section.

If you have chosen the automated telephone alert type you will receive a recorded message each time you obtain a new Gulliver transaction. You will continue to receive this alert until you view the transaction on GullNet. Once you have looked at the complete transaction details, the phone alert will stop. To view the transaction and stop the alert:

  • Login and click on “Booking Notifications”.
  • The next screen within “Booking Notifications” shows you a summary of the transaction details.
  • Click on “Reference” number of each new notification to view the complete transaction details.


WHEN A BOOKING IS CANCELLED, THE ROOM(S) ARE
AUTOMATICALLY RELEASED BACK TO GULLIVER
TO BE SOLD AGAIN.

2. Set Selling Prices

From the GullNet home page click “Set Selling Prices” this section shows you how to set a selling price for each product.

Choose which month you would like to view/set selling price for by selecting one from the drop down list. The tabs below this display a list of products types (Standard Products, Room Only Products etc) and a calendar. You can create prices for each product. Each product has a list of sub-products. If you click on the underlined sub-product a window opens with the product breakdown. It will include information such as breakfast included / not included, the room types linked to etc. The ‘Short Description’ and ‘Description’ boxes are currently not in use and do not require any content.

The selling price calendar displays prices for each product for each day of the selected month. At the top of the calendar, you will see a letter representing each day. Saturday is in light blue & Sunday in is red. The number relates to the date.

The ‘Do not sell’ folder means you have closed out these dates.

The ‘No max price given’ folder with an X means Gulliver has not been supplied with a maximum price. Contact the Support Line to have this price added.

Selling price can be set a number of ways:

  1. For a particular day using the calendar.
  2. Using the ‘Modify Prices by Date Range’ box.
  3. Using the’ Modify Prices by Days of the Week’ box.

  1. To change the selling price for a particular day:

    Click on the price to generate the ‘Set Daily Price’ window. Enter the new selling price (in accordance with your maximum price) and click ‘Submit’. The new prices will appear on the calendar.

  2. Modify Prices By Date Range

    To set selling price for a date range, simply choose a product from the drop down list. Choose the inclusive date range, choose ‘Sell At’ from the drop down list, enter your required price and click ‘Submit’. The new prices will appear on the calendar. If you do not want to sell a product for a particular date range, follow the same instructions and choose ‘Do Not Sell’ from the drop down list.

  3. Modify Prices By Days of the Week

    To set selling price by days of the week, simply choose a product from the drop down list, tick the box below each day, enter price for each day, choose which inclusive date range this should relate to and click on ‘Submit’.

    Price changes will be updated on the top of every hour.

3. Set Availability
This section shows you how to set availability for a unit type i.e. a room or a self catering property.

You will see an availability calendar that displays each ‘Unit Type’ (type of room), ‘Max.’ (no. of unit types), ‘Sold’ and ‘Available’. The top of the calendar displays a letter representing the day of the week. Saturday is in light blue & Sunday in is red. The number relates to the actual date for each day.

Availability can be set:

  1. For a particular day using the calendar.
  2. Within a range of dates.
  3. By day of the week within a range of inclusive dates.
  1. Modify Availability for a particular day using the calendar

    Choose which month you would like to view/set availability for by selecting one from the drop down list. Enter the required number of rooms/self catering units into the ‘Available’ box/boxes. Click on ‘Submit’. A window will pop up asking if you want make the change - click ‘OK’ and the new availability will now appear in the availability box.

  2. Modify Availability By Date Range

    Underneath the calendar you will see the ‘Modify Availability By Date Range’ box. Choose a unit type from the ‘For Unit’ drop down list. Select your inclusive date range, enter the number of rooms/unit types you want to make available and click ‘Submit’. You will again be asked to confirm this change – to continue, click ‘OK’. The new availability will appear in the availability box.

  3. Set availability by Days of the Week.

    Underneath the calendar you will see the ‘Modify Availability By Date Range’ box. Choose a unit type from the ‘For Unit’ drop down list. Tick the box below each day of the week then enter the number of unit types you want to make available for each day. Choose an inclusive date range that this should relate to and click ‘Submit’. You will again be asked to confirm this change – to continue, click ‘OK’. The new availability will appear in the availability box.

Split Availability
A new feature on Gullnet is the option to divide your rooms/units between Gulliver and Fáilte Ireland Value Breaks. This 'Split Availability' feature means that you can allocate some of your rooms/units to Gulliver at a particular rate and allocate a separate number of rooms/units to Fáilte Ireland Value Breaks at a different rate.

4. Search Bookings
On the GullNet home page click “Search Bookings”. This section allows you to search for your property bookings in various ways:

  • If you know the booking reference number enter it in the boxes provided within ‘Search by Booking Code’ and then click “Search.” If the booking reference number you entered is valid, the full details of the booking will appear otherwise you will generate an error message.
  • If you do not know the booking reference number then go to the “Search Bookings by” section of the page.
  • To view the actual dates that a booking was made for your property within a set time period - choose ‘Booking Dates’ from the “Search Bookings By” drop down list, enter an inclusive date range and click ‘Search’.
  • To view the date of arrival of guests to your property - choose ‘Arrival Dates’ from the “Search Bookings By” drop down list, enter an inclusive date range and click ‘Search’.
  • To view number of guests at your property – choose ‘Guests Present’ from the “Search Bookings By” drop down list, enter an inclusive date range and click ‘Search’.
  • All of the above search options contain the extra feature of filtering your search via ‘with guest surname’.
  • The list of booking dates/arrival dates/guests present is presented in summary form but can also be viewed in more detail by selecting “List” from the “Show results in” section.
  • Using the “List” format you will get more details of each booking for the relevant dates/surname. This is ideal for printing out a list of incoming bookings. You may also view the full booking form by clicking on the booking reference number.

4. User Access

This section allows the master user access to all functions of the GullNet system. The master user can activate new users, de-activate users and change user access rights. In most cases, the master user will be the property owner or manager.

Add A New User:

  1. On the GullNet home page click on “Update User” this brings you to the “User Maintenance” page. Here is your list of current GullNet users.
  2. To add a new member of staff click ‘Add New User’ at the top of the page.
  3. Enter a user login. For example for staff member Joe Bloggs you would enter jbloggs.
  4. Next enter the full user name e.g. Joe Bloggs.
  5. In the next field, the system generates a random password for you. You cannot select your own. Re-type the password in the “Verify Password” box.
  6. Enter an email address for the new user. Make a note of the new username and password before you click ‘Insert’. You will receive the message ‘user was inserted successfully’.
  7. If the user name is already in use, you will receive an error message. Try again using another username, such as jbloggs1 or contact the Gulliver Ireland Support Line for assistance.

To Edit User Access Rights:
To change the access rights for an existing user, click on the ‘Update’ link beside the user’s name. This will show you their full details and access rights.

  1. In the ‘Access Rights’ section, tick or un-tick the boxes beside each function. For example, if the box beside ‘Set availability’ is ticked, then the user is allowed to make changes to the availability calendar.
  2. Select “Update” to activate the changes.
  3. You will get a message saying user was updated successfully. These changes take effect the next time the user logs in.

6. Log Off

You can log out of the GullNet system at any time by clicking on the “Log Off” option at the top right hand corner of the screen.

How to set Gulliver.ie as your homepage:

  1. Click on the 'Tools' menu.
  2. Select 'Internet Options' option.
  3. Select the 'General' tab.
  4. Enter www.gulliver.ie/GullNet into the space provided for the address of your home page.
  5. Click apply and then Ok

How to set Gulliver.ie within your ‘Favourites’:

  1. Open the web page http://www.gulliver.ie/GullNet
  2. Click “Favourites”
  3. Click “Add to Favourites”
  4. Click “OK”
  5. For all future logins, click “Favourites” and then click “GullNet Login Page”
